Out of all the things I love about travel, the few that resonate most with me are:
Like everything else in life, I BLAME MY PARENTS!!
Growing up, summer meant one thing - travel. My parents, hardworking middle-class dreamers, saved every penny they could to ensure we could take a trip each year. No matter how big or small the budget was, travel was non-negotiable.
Those road trips and journeys shaped my core memories that I still tap into, decades later. Even as I left for college, my parents continued their tradition, setting off on summer trips that became a source of inspiration (and envy) for both their peers and mine.
Fast forward. I grew up. My turn at becoming that "hardworking" middle-class "adult" (eye roll). I had simply assumed they would spend their later years collecting more passport stamps, but instead, I watched their world shrink. And noticably, many others, across different life stages, were facing their own travel hesitations.
Some travelers worry about navigating a foreign country. Others dream of taking "the-trip-of-a-lifetime" but don't know where to start.
After willfully selling your soul to the corporate Lucifer, you deserve more than just another trip. Dare I say, you need an escape that actually feels like one, with stress-free travel planning built in. (Think watching a ballet performance by the Northern Lights, or sipping champagne on a private yacht.)
At 50FlyingFish, I get to wrestle the devil (details), and you get to put your feet up, feel the wind under your wings, and actually enjoy your vacation.
For those craving something wilder, I open doors to hidden, off-the-map destinations you won't find in a typical travel package.
Luxury isn't always about fancy hotels or perfectly curated Instagram moments. It's also about stepping away from the chaos, reclaiming your time, and soaking in moments that actually matter.
THE BIT I SHOULD PROBABLY MENTION
Before 50FlyingFish, I spent 15 years as a Program Manager at companies like Zoox, Confluent, First Republic, and Goodyear Tires - places where the details that fall apart when no one is paying attention are exactly the ones that matter most.
Turns out, that's also a perfect description of international travel.
I brought that same precision to building a travel practice and in the last two years, I've landed in the top 5% of the FORA advisor network, with $180k+ in client travel booked across four continents. Not by taking every inquiry that comes in, but by being selective about the trips I take on and delivering them properly.
Personally, I've traveled to 20+ countries, many of them multiple times, and several on foot, by train, by safari vehicle, and by expedition ship. I know the difference between a hotel that photographs well and one that actually delivers. I know which Africa itineraries are overcrowded and which ones aren't.
I specialize in the destinations that reward real expertise - South India's temple circuits, Japan's ryokan culture, East Africa's migration routes, the Arctic in winter. Places where knowing the difference between a good operator and a great one changes everything.
One more thing - I'm Indian. I grew up between cultures and have spent the last year doing firsthand destination research across Tamil Nadu, Japan, East Africa - the ancient temple circuits, the Chettinad mansions, the luxury properties tucked into places most advisors default away from.
Most travel agencies give you an itinerary, which works perfectly for some. At 50FlyingFish, I give you a story.
Whether it's waking up to elephants outside your tent, making eye contact with a polar bear in the Arctic, or sailing the Nile like an Agatha Christie protagonist - your trip should be as extraordinary as you are.
I specialize in the trips that have real weight behind them. Multigenerational family travel. Milestone celebrations. Safari and expedition journeys. Complex international itineraries with moving parts that have to work. The kind of travel where getting it wrong isn't just inconvenient, it's a story you'd rather not tell.
My clients don't come to me for cheap. They come to me because their time is valuable, their trip matters, and they want someone in their corner who'll make it happen (Hint: Me!)
Now, that's a story you'll have to talk to me for.
Anyway. Enough about me.
Go check out some cool client tales. I work with a select number of clients at a time. If you're ready, so am I.
